Meet 19 year-old, Marshall Lee Giles Jr.
To his friends, he’s known as, Lil Sicc.
But I think that Mr Sicc will soon be receiving a new nickname, courtesy of a Bexar County Jail cellmate.
You see, Giles Jr is accused of killing his own father with an ax.
On Wednesday, around 11:00pm, police officers were called to a home in the 1900 block of East Crockett Street in San Antonio, Texas. Upon arrival, police officers found the victim, Marshall Lee Giles Sr., who also goes by the nickname Ernest Johnson, lying on the couch, moaning and bleeding from several deep lacerations. His left eye was left dangling from it’s socket.
An officer spoke with the victim’s wife, who told the officer that she had gone to the store to get cigarettes. She had her grandson in tow, as was completely unaware of the happenings in her home. She said that once she had returned, she decided to inhale her cancer stick outside before going inside the house. Once inside, she saw her husband bleeding, and she called the 911.
When officers questioned the grandson, he first claimed that he didn’t know who attacked his Grandfather. He claimed that a man he didn’t know, attacked his Grandfather, and fled out the back door. He later said that Giles Jr, “tugged him on his shoulder” and said he loved him before he ran away. When the police asked if Giles Jr was the one who hurt his Grandfather, he claimed that he wasn’t sure. But after more questioning, the grandson admitted that the younger Giles had hit the elder Giles in the head with an ax.
Investigators at the scene spotted the suspect coming out of a crawl space on the side of the house and arrested him. They also found a hatchet with a long handle in the crawl space.
As the police took the younger Giles away, he asked if the victim was still alive. He later gave a full confession, admitting to attacking the senior Giles in his sleep.
But as he was being booked into jail, the younger Giles began to” smile and laugh” as an officer explained to a detention officer why the younger Giles was being arrested.
Giles Jr was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. The Associated Press reports that the charges may now be upgraded to murder.
Bond was set at $20,000. But may now be pending.
Let me put my Law & Order hat on…
5 Questions I asked myself after reading this piece…
1. How did the grandson become a witness to the crime if the grandson was with the Grandmother at the store?
2. When did the Grandmother pick up the grandson?
3. Why did the grandson initially lie?
4. How old is the grandson?
5. What triggered the attack?
I’m sorry if I seem a little suspicious, but days of watching the ID Channel will do it to you…
