A woman from Reddick, Florida, came home around 6pm, Wednesday, December 12th, to find her driveway missing.
The victim reported that, as she pulled into get driveway, she felt a ‘bump’.
As she got out to inspect her car, she noticed that the concrete pavers used to make her driveway, was missing.
A neighbor witnessed the crime, but also reported that the victim had recently had workers constructing a barn on the property.
After the crime was reported, the police were able to rustle up an arrest that produced this individual.
Meet Anthony Jones.
Jones was arrested Friday, December 21st, (Doomsday for this man) and charged with two counts each of grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
He told the judge that the detective who arrested him had threatened to shoot him and he wanted the statement on the record. His bond was reduced from $14,000 to $8,000.
His next court date is slated for Jan. 22.
Outside the courtroom at the Marion County Jail, Jones, who does have a criminal history, insist he’s innocent and that he didn’t steal any pavers or fence posts.
Jones is accused of removing pavers from a driveway in Reddick in mid-December and is believed to have returned two days later to pick up more of the pavers. He’s also accused of stealing fence posts from another property, also in mid-December.
