Meet Scott Compton, an English teacher at Chapin High School in Chapin, South Carolina.
He is accused of disrespecting the American flag in front of a classroom full of students. Not only did he do this at in one of his classes, he repeated the same act in all three of his English II Honors classes.
Administrators were alerted of the flag stomping incident when they were sent an email by a very pissed off parent.
One parent, Michael Copeland, said that he overheard his teenage daughter discussing it with her friends and he asked her to tell him the whole story.
The Daily Caller reports:
“He drew a couple of symbols, like one of them was a cross, and he said, ‘What does this represent,’ and everybody said, ‘Christianity,’” Copeland explained to WIS.
“Then he proceeds to take down the American flag, and said, ‘This is a symbol, but it’s only a piece of cloth. It doesn’t mean anything,’ and then he throws it down on the floor and then stomps on it, repeatedly,” Copeland continued.
“I asked what was he trying to get, the point across? And she said, ‘I don’t know,’ and he said, his explanation was there would be no consequences, it’s just a piece of cloth that doesn’t mean anything.”
Oddly enough, Compton did face consequences.
Compton is now under investigation and is on ‘long-term’ administrative leave.
But I can imagine this will get a whole lot worse before it gets better.
Thousands of soldiers have died for this teacher to retain his freedom and rights as an American citizen.
And to think, he’s teaching another generation of young minds…
But what is your lesson Mr Compton?
But I will ask:
