January 10th started off as any other day in the Johnson home.
Kendrick arrived at his Lowndes High School with other students, ready to mark the day with knowledge, flirting, and fun…
But at some point during the third and fourth block, Kendrick somehow disappeared.
Apparently no one noticed that Kendrick was missing for the rest of the day.
No teacher.
No student.

Because no one noticed Kendrick’s absence until his father became worried that his child hadn’t returned home.
Kendrick’s father, Kenneth Johnson reported him missing to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department that evening.
On Friday morning, Jan. 11, janitors at Lowndes High School found Kendrick…
He was upside down in the mat and is believed to have passed out due to the blood flow to his head for an extended period of time, which could ultimately lead to a stroke or heart failure, the report says.

Officers say that during the investigation, they learned that Kendrick Johnson went into the gymnasium and appears to have climbed on top of the mats which were standing upright. At some point Kendrick Johnson either reached into the center of one of the rolled mats or fell into the center opening of the mat and became lodged. Investigators found no signs of a struggle having taken place. Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office have and will continue to interview students and friends who may be able to provide information.
This is where the family of Kendrick says that things take a turn.
Kenneth Johnson, a local television news station that he believes his son was murdered.
“I want to express how did my son go missing during school hours in broad daylight? We know our son was murdered while he was at Lowndes High School. We do know that,” Johnson told WALB.
In Johnson’s case, the medical examiner’s office is also running toxicology tests, which can take weeks to complete, before determining the exact cause of death. The sheriff said he does not expect to see a full report on the cause of death for at least a month.

Anastasia Roe, the teen’s aunt, said her nephew was a good student who ran track and played football. She said he was the life of the party, but reserved when he met new people.
She said information that the family received from the school and the sheriff’s office about how the teen was found was inconsistent, and that lead to some in the community to ask questions.
“First we heard he was on the floor near the mat, then we hear he was wrapped in the mat,” she said. “It’s suspicious.”
Authorities began their investigation as Lowndes High students texted and posted on Facebook regarding the death. For a period, no one could enter or leave Lowndes High. Numerous parents arrived to pick up their children. Classes continued throughout Friday and parents were eventually allowed inside to pick up their children.
Sheriff’s and GBI investigators initially worked the scene as a suspected homicide. The sheriff’s office and Lowndes County School System issued a statement of suspecting no foul play by Friday night.

After hearing them tell of the area around KJ’s body being very bloody, KJ’s body showing bruising on his right jaw, the EMT considering the area around KJ’s body a crime scene, the coroner being notified 6 hours after the body was discovered, along with the fact KJ’s parents were NOT allowed to view his remains for two days after he was discovered…is causing many to scream FOUL PLAY. This is just a few of the things mentioned on this show, that would cause one to say how did the Sheriff say within 24 hours this was just a “freak accident born from a perfect storm.” This is a must hear podcast.

I live in Valdosta. Now they are saying that one student went entered the gym in front of Kenneth, but they went in seperate direction, and investigators know for a fact the other student went to class, and shortly afterwards a gym class entered the gym, but no one heard kenneth yell for help. This sheriff, his investigating unit, GBI, and Coroner all need to be investigated by the feds.

ok…as a former wrestling coach when my students rolled up the mats after a wrestling match, YOU DON’T STAND THE MATS UP BECAUSE THEY ARE EXTREMELY HEAVY. WRESTLING MATS USUALLY COME IN GROUPS OF 3 SECTIONS. AND 1 OF THOSE SECTIONS ARE EXTREMELY HEAVY 200-400 POUNDS, SO IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY STUPID FOR A COACH OR A PRINCIPAL TO ALLOW HIS WRESTLERS TO STAND A MAT UP ON ONE END WHEN THEY ARE STORED AFTER A WRESTLING MATCH. WHAT IF ONE FELL TO THE SIDE?..IF THIS WAS A HIGH SCHOOL, THE MATS WOULD BE HEAVY TYPE, HEAVY ENOUGH TO HOLD MULTIPLE WRESTLERS AND BE HEAVY ENOUGH TO NOT SHIFT OR SLIDE DURING PRACTICE OR A MATCH. MATS ARE STORED LAYING DOWN AFTER THEY ARE ROLLED UP AND PLACED IN A ROLLING APPARATUS THAT MAKES THEM EASY TO ROLL FROM ONE AREA TO ANOTHER.

IF WRESTLING MATS ARE STORED STANDING UP THE WEIGHT WOULD CAUSE A BEND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MATS. SO WHY WOULD A WRESTLING COACH CREATE AN ADDITIONAL WORRY FOR WRESTLING TOURNAMENTS?

I love how everything turns into a racial thing… It is sad that this kid lost his life and his family lost a son. Disrespectful that the police did a messy job at best on this matter, we all know the police are idiots, what do you expect?
The truth is that when the body is inverted, especially for long periods of time, the blood pools in the head. Blood pressure increases, blindness, bursted blood vessels and all kinds of things happen (while still alive). Death from inversion alone in a healthy person (which we all know Kendrick was) would take much longer than a day. But if he suffocated (most likely) and stayed in this position for a day it would be expected that he looks as he does in the post death picture. The blood and other fluids would be pooling and you can see the skin on the scalp has slid forward. A beating to the face of that magnitude would’ve broken the skin at some point and there’d be blood everywhere. Or at least somewhere!
I am definitely no fan of the police, I have been wrongly arrested in my time, (jumped by two individuals, I successfully defended myself and was rewarded with a night in jail because that was the easiest thing for Barney to do!). But this poor boy probably died as a result of “misadventure”. Until we stop throwing race around and basing everything on that we are going to continue to spin in circles as a species.
If we want to stand together for something we need to figure how to use the tools the Constitution has given us to take our country back from the corrupt government and police state we live in. Even the slave-owning “forefathers” could foresee that we’d be in this position at some point. The “Occupy” movement was a chance to start a revolution but no one wanted to make a sacrifice… They all wanted to be able to go back to their Starbucks and McDonalds lifestyles after their cute little display of “protest”. Chew on that, brothers and sisters.

I remember being in high school and having to roll those mats up after wrestling and football practice. Those mats are extremely heavy and the center of those mats collapse due to the weigh and pressure of the outside walls once rolled up. There is no way someone can fall in one of those even if those mats are standing up or laying on the sides rolled up. Someone killed that boy rolled him up in that mat to cover it up, plus the big question that’s in my head is “if this boy didn’t have a record of skipping class, or not showing up” why didn’t any of his teachers question him not being in class when attendance was taken??? That’s the million dollar question in my book!

Ever since I herd K.Js story I have believed in my heart this young man was murderd 😦 very sad bc he had a bright future and someone or some people has ruined that. Deal breaker…”Where are his clothes”? Sure explain the boating from him being upside down, but the alterations? No. Missing clothes? No. When his father was finally allowed to see him the body was in a Warm room with heat emanating from the body. Why, to make decomposition occur faster! No clothes, no evidence of a struggle. Rushed decomposition equally no evidence of a struggle. Cover Up.

Anyone with that intention has to know there’s no way out, once in.
If this young man entered the mat on his own power, he must have been relying on assistance to get out. Furthermore, I’m sure there must have been easier ways to recover the shoe (if this was the actual reason for getting in the mat).
Additionally, is it a coincidence that he was found at the center of the mat and not at either end, suggesting his body was being concealed?
Was it his shoe it’s alleged he was trying to recover or someone else’s? How and when did that shoe allegedly fall into the mat and did anyone else see it get there?

I am not trying to be graphic or side with anyone but if this is not foul play I can see how his face became swollen/inflamed because of the blood flow to that part of the body and as his face began to swell it pressed into the mat which of course is wrapped so tightly it did not budge which caused his face to flatten out length wise.

Yes yes yes… He was murderd and I believe there was footage taking off the video because the white boy that go in first is no where in the video inside the gym, and the two black boys in the hall way look suspecious as well. When Johnson came down the hallway notice that one of the black boys seemed to be talking to the white and the heavier boys but the tall one look to see Johnson coming down the stairs or hall and went back like he was telling the others that he was coming. And notice the way Johnson started walking away more closer to the wall when approached by the tall black boy in the hall. But the boys playing basketball after Kendrick walked pass can be the ones playing ball in the gym but where is the white boy at?

I think it was murder. I think people (some) in the school are covering it up. I do think the video has been altered/tampered with. they started making more changes the day the judge ordered it to be release. then the family lawyer need to be on point. I would have went to the judge requesting not only for the video ( but also a time frame in which they have to give it to me). And also dont need the family lawyers allowing them to accidentally slip through the cracks.
I do think its so many clues as to this pointing toward murder. only a dumb azz would over look it on purpose. (a shady cop/captain/ and town/state). you got to think here. the police dept has had so much time to tamper with the video. so much time to take organs out so no testing can prove there was foul play/ so much time to taint the witnesses. the cops went in on the crime scene messing it all up. they (the cops) deal with this stuff daily. so they know exactly what to do to keep it right and what should not be done to prevent contamination. they chose to mess the crime scene up on purpose. if a good OUTSIDE LAWYER and investigator does not look at this case …..it will slip right through the cracks. outside of GA people need to deal with this because at some point higher up they may all join in to cover it up. the venue need to be changed when….yes when (because it will) it makes it to court because of foul play…… and people re-reviewing the case need to come from outside of GA. i would not trust any of them in that town( tthe police dept that is).
and please inform me. IS it true the gym was redone? meaning remolded or torn down or something related to that? which would pretty much eliminate all possible forensic edvnc. if this is true about gym please post a link on KJ memorial FB Page for me to see and the world.

THEY DESERVE THE TRUTH , BUT MORE SO THEY DESERVE A SENSE OF PEACE, SO EVERYONE TAKE A MOMENT AND PRAY THAT WHATEVER THE FINAL OUTCOME IS THAT THEY, KENDRICKS PARENTS WHO WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS EVERYDAY FOR THE REST OF THERE LIVES FIND WHAT IT IS THEY TRULY NEED AND DESERVE ,,,,, PEACE, PEACE TO JUST BREATHE AGAIN, TO LIVE AGAIN, AND TO JUST BE AGAIN, NO BURDEN CAN OR SHOULD LAST FOREVER, I KNOW IT WONT BE EASY, BUT I TRULY HOPE THAT MORE THAN ANYTHING THIS BURDEN , THIS SENSE OF LOSS, THIS PAIN OF UNKNOWING, IS LIFTED AND THEY FIND A SENSE OF PEACE, GOD SPEED IN YOUR JOURNEY MR AND MS JOHNSON, YOUR BABY WILL HAVE PEACE WHEN YOU HAVE IT, FOR HIS LOVE FOR YOU IS AS GREAT STILL AS YOUR LOVE FOR HIM.

I am definitely a believer that this child was murdered. Its just a shame how those who know the truth won’t tell it. I agree this should not be about race but it is. Valdosta is a racist city, both blacks and whites. Thats the way it is and probably always will be. Lowndes county is known for less than stellar reviews with it’s law enforcement. Yes if Kenneth was of the Caucasian persuasion, this case would be sloved, guilty prosecuted, and the family would be grieving while knowing all the facts. Death is definitely a horrible thing to deal with but the death of a young child without closure is probably a pain on another level. My prayer is that truth reveals itself, this family gets closure, and the guilty be punished (even the concealors).

her ex boyfriend were very unhappy about her dating the black boy…..need I say more….could be why the investigation had /has so many inconsistencies and dead ends…..this is a job for God…
