Who knew that the Colonel’s chicken could excite a riot?
In the UK, an Englishman lost all clarity of reality when he was refused service at his local KFC restaurant in Northampton.
Hugh Brown, 50, flipped out and went on the rampage with his car when staff at KFC in Oakley Road, Corby refused to serve him. But what he apparently didn’t know was the restaurant was closed for the day. Undeterred by the restaurant’s closure, Brown felt that his chicken fix need to be quenched by any means necessary. Once Brown was told that the store was closed, he became irate. Brown drove his car through the front window of KFC, then grabbed a 20-foot pole from the debris and tried to attack workers. He then left the restaurant. When he realized he was being followed by an off-duty police officer, he rammed his car, and when police arrived on the scene, he repeatedly drove into it.
When asked why he had lost his temper, Brown said: “I only did it because they wouldn’t give me a bargain bucket.” While he was being arrested, he allegedly yelled, “I’ve got Hep C, I’ll spit on you.”
The Colonel would not be proud.
